Here is an article that was posted in the New Entrepreneur a month back. I read it again recently, liked it, so I thought I would share it again. Enjoy!
Every year at about this time we all begin to look forward to the New Year and the upcoming time with our friends and families. Sometimes it’s the great things about the holidays that take valuable time away from business. Things like holiday or vacation travel can become a big distraction too. But, you can always take advantage of them since you’ll be in the company of many potential customers. So, before the pace picks up and things get more hectic, take a few minutes to prepare yourself to finish your business year with a bang.
The first step is to set short-term goals for the end of the year and the beginning of the next. Maybe you want
the Holiday Cash award or you are trying to qualify for next year's annual trip Whatever your goal, be sure to write it down and make it clear. The next step is to decide how much time is needed to achieve your goals. Use your past experience to help determine your time requirements. For example, if you think you’ll need to speak with 20 people to hit your goal and it takes you about an hour per person, then you’ll need to find time for those 20 hours. Now, get your monthly calendar and block out all the time that’s already committed to the holidays, to work, etc. With the remaining time, plan your Symmetry business action plan.
The key to success is to plan your work and then work your plan.
Don’t put off making those calls or executing your communications because the holidays will be over before you know it.
