I had the opportunity to hear Michael Phelps speak and he was the best one out of the whole event. He wasn't the best speaker or most dynamic, but his message was awesome! Here are few key points that he was mentioning:
1) He credits all his success and Gold Medals to being mentally tough. He said he trained everyday for 5 years straight, with no days off, because he knew if he took a break his competition around the world wouldn't.
2) Don't stop. Live, breathe and eat what you do. If you do this you will be successful.
3) Use your failures as motivation. Hate to lose with a passion.
4) Always take responsibility for your results. Micheal Phelps constantly tells himself "I should've been faster, I should've been better."
5) Don't make excuses: "Everyone can compete when they feel good. You can become great if you compete when you aren't comfortable and don't feel good."
6) "Winners do what losers won't do. The winners don't want to do it either, but they force themselves to."
Man just sharing this info with you got me fired up. I think this will be a Good News Moment soon!
